PAD POLICIES
1. Check-in and Check-out Policies
- Check-in time is 3pm to 6pm. Check-in after 6pm must be organised with Pad Hostel prior to arrival.
- Check-out time is 10am. Late check-out is available until 12pm and can be purchased for $25, subject to availability.
- Early check-in can only be confirmed on the date of arrival if available. Late check-out without pre-purchasing and notifying staff incurs a $50 fee, which can be charged without notice to the card on file for the guest.
- An international passport is required for check-in. Pad Hostel reserves the right to request extra documentation if deemed necessary.
- Strictly 18–35 age limitation.
2. Booking and Payment Policies
- Pad Hostel accepts payment from all major credit cards*, cash, and online payment through third-party booking platforms, which are subject to their own terms and conditions.
- Payment will be attempted prior to check-in, depending on which rate has been booked. If payment fails to settle within the agreed rate period, Pad Hostel may cancel the reservation. Payment is required in full before check-in, including for extended in-house bookings: (i) For bookings made on the non-refundable rate, payment is due at the point of confirmation. Changes or cancellations are not entitled to a refund. (ii) For bookings made on the flexible rate, cancellations or changes can be made up to 3 days prior to the check-in date. Changes or cancellations after this period are treated as non-refundable, unless otherwise covered by the booking channel’s terms and conditions.
- No-shows will be charged the full amount of their reservation and cancelled at 3pm the day after the original check-in date, unless contact is made with the hostel detailing extenuating circumstances which Pad Hostel staff deem applicable.
- After check-in, if a guest leaves their reservation early, they are not entitled to a refund for the remainder of their stay.
- When a reservation is made in error because the guest falls outside the 18–35 age limitation for check-in, the guest may cancel for free only if they contact Pad Hostel within 24 hours of creating the reservation. After this period, the reservation is subject to the cancellation policy of the rate booked (non-refundable/flexible). This does not apply for same-day bookings.
- For group dormitory bookings where individual beds are reserved, Pad Hostel will make every effort to accommodate the group in the same room; however, this cannot be guaranteed.
3. Dormitory Etiquette
- Guests must respect fellow travellers’ sleep schedules and privacy, and not use the dorms as social areas.
- Guests must keep their belongings under their bed space or in designated lockers without encroaching on other travellers’ areas.
- Bed switching is not permitted unless authorised by Pad Hostel staff. Bed switching mid-stay is subject to a $10 fee.
4. Guest Behaviour and Conduct
- No smoking, including vapes, on the premises except in designated areas.
- No disruptive behaviour, harassment, or offensive language towards staff or other guests.
- Alcohol and drugs are not permitted and can be removed without caution or compensation.
- Eviction from the adjoining licensed premise, CCH, equates to eviction from Pad Hostel in all circumstances, with no eligibility for a refund.
5. Security and Safety
- After hours (6pm–9am) access is exclusively for current reservations via the courtyard lit 'Pad Hostel' signed entrance, using the GOKI app. Letting somebody in without a current reservation at Pad Hostel may result in termination of your reservation, even if accidental.
- Guests without a current reservation at Pad Hostel are permitted in the common areas only between 9am and 6pm. Strictly no overnight guests. Pad Hostel staff reserve the right to ask any visitor to leave without question, and guests with a reservation risk eviction for accommodating outside guests in breach of these rules.
- In the event of a fire, guests must follow the evacuation route detailed on the hostel signage. Guests must evacuate at the sound of the fire alarm. False or accidental initiation of the fire alarm will result in a minimum $1,700 fine and immediate cancellation of the guest’s reservation.
- Under no circumstances are e-bikes or other lithium battery-powered items permitted inside the premises. Charging lithium batteries or bringing them into Pad Hostel will result in immediate eviction and future blacklisting from the venue and associated venues.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance
- Housekeeping is completed after check-out, except in the case of long-term guests, who may request their bed linen to be changed a maximum of once per week.
- Guests have a responsibility to keep common areas clean and follow the instructions of staff regarding food and fridge storage, and can be fined for misconduct in these areas.
- Guests must report cleaning or maintenance issues to a member of staff.
7. Amenities and Services
- Free towels are available for guests in private rooms. All other guests can request a towel for a $5 hire fee; towels must be returned.
- Free Wi-Fi is available for all guests unless technical issues interrupt our ability to provide it.
- Subject to availability, guests can store their luggage between 9am and 3pm on the day of check-in and 10am and 6pm on the day of check-out.
8. Guest Liability
- If a guest is found responsible for any damages caused to the property, they are liable and can be charged accordingly and/or have their reservation cancelled.
- Pad Hostel is not liable for any lost or stolen items.
9. Pet and Animal Policy
- Pets or animals are not permitted on the property, except if the owner has the appropriate documentation for disability/guide dogs. In this case, reservations in private rooms may be accommodated pending pre-approval with Pad Hostel Management.
10. Data Protection and Privacy
- How we collect, use, store, and protect personal data, including security footage, is in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
- Pad Hostel reserves the right to feature anybody on the premises in promotional material or social media content for the business.
- Mail addressed to guests of Pad Hostel will be kept for 1 month. If we cannot contact the recipient in this time, the mail will be returned to sender or destroyed.
Guest agreement: By checking in to Pad Hostel, you agree to these terms and those of the local, state, and federal governing authorities.
*Please note that Visa and Mastercard transactions are subject to 1.8% transaction fees. American Express and other cards, including international cards, are subject to 3.5% transaction fees. Eftpos payments can incur an additional $0.17.
